The Forestry Conservation Communications Association.
The Forestry Conservation Communications Association (FCCA) is a national organization; some of whose functions, such as that of frequency coordination, are conducted on a regional level.
The FCCA is a Federal Communication Commission (FCC) certified frequency coordinator for ALL public safety frequencies, including those in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands. We provide a full range of radio communications services for forestry and conservation agencies, police, fire/EMS and local government.
As originally chartered, we served only the Forestry Conservation (PO) and, later the Local Government (PX) radio services. In this capacity the FCCAs main function was to assist federal, state and local governments in public safety two-way radio operations by locating suitable frequencies within specified operating areas, recommending their assignment to the FCC for licensing, and protecting them once licensed.
Today we serve all public safety licensees on a non-discriminatory basis. Our years of experience as a frequency coordinator and regional staff bring a unique expertise and capability to services that will serve your organizations needs.
Full memberships are those state agencies represented at the national level by the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) or the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA). Each full member agency employee has voting rights in the business meetings of the Association when present.
Associate memberships shall be persons from agencies not represented by NASF or AFWA who qualify for the Forestry Conservation Radio Service frequencies within the Federal Communications Commission regulations and who have paid current annual dues. All associate members in a state jointly select one representative and have one vote at business meetings.
Supporting memberships are individuals from organizations not necessarily involved in Forestry Conservation activities, but who support the aims and purposes of the Association.
The organization functions under the direction of an Executive Committee as provided for in its constitution and by-laws.
